Emerson, NJ - For the second consecutive year, MRC Medical Communications joined more than 1,500 runners, walkers and bicyclists for the American Cancer Societys George Washington Bridge Challenge, held this year on Sunday, June 13. Participants solicit sponsorships from friends, relatives and associates and then walk, run or bike various distances with each course crossing the George Washington Bridge.

The company participated under the team name MRC Medical Running for Uncle Joe in honor of Joe Reilly, brother-in-law of MRC associates Susan and Dave Rector. Joe has been waging a tremendous battle for more than two years and we appreciate the entire company coming together to help him and all those facing this terrible disease, said MRC Medicals Vice President, Business Development, Susan Rector.

MRC Medical worked as a team with the entire staff soliciting funds and MRC President, Dave Rector, participating in the 5K Run. Rectors son, Dan also ran to support the cause in honor of his uncle. The event raised more than $158,000, to advance the cause and find a cure. MRC Medicals 2010 total of $2,200 brought its two year contribution to more than $5,000. We would like to thank all our friends, associates and clients who so generously supported this effort, said Susan Rector. Of course, theres still time, since contributions for the event are being accepted through August 30, 2010, she added.

This year, hundreds of thousands of people will hear the words, You have cancer, and theres a good chance that some of them will be people we know and love. Today, there is more hope than ever for people facing cancer. However there is much work to be done. We can all choose to fight in one way or another, said Dave Rector. I encourage everyone to select a strong, positive action, get others involved and make a difference.
