Doctor Info Flies into Metropolis to Promote Fresenius Vascular Care
1,000+ Stop for Photo Op with New Super Hero at National Kidney Walk
November 10, 2014, New York, NY – Fresenius Vascular Care (FVC) tasked MRC Medical Communications with staging a memorable and exciting event at the Wellness and Education Tent at this year’s National Kidney Foundation Walk – and to do it on a tight time frame. In conjunction with the company’s ongoing support of the NKF Walk, the event was designed to promote FVC’s new website, InfoDialysisAccess.com, which offers education and information on dialysis access care.
With just 6 weeks to conceptualize and produce, MRC responded to the challenge with an integrated campaign promoting its “It All Starts with Info” theme, coordinated all event staging elements which culminated in the appearance of the world’s newest Super Hero, FVC’s own Doctor Info.
“Doctor Info represents the wealth of knowledge available through our Info sites,” said Susan McKeown, FVC’s Vice President of Marketing. “His mission is to make sure everyone recognizes the value of being informed about their own vascular health care.”
MRC incorporated branding and promotions, community outreach (through social media, public relations and online media) and traffic building activities including a Photo Op with Doctor Info. MRC also handled the casting of Doctor Info actor, as well as the photography.
All elements came together the morning of the NKF walk at the at Foley Square Park in Lower Manhattan – the starting point of this year’s Walk. Individuals, teams and their guests were able to speak with company representatives, meet access center staff, learn health tips for dialysis access care and have their picture taken with Doctor Info.
The results included more than 1,000 participants having their picture taken with Doctor Info reinforcing the FVC brand; the collection of an additional database of patients - an increase over 2013’s results – achieved at a reduced cost per prospect. In addition The event also increased awareness of FVC’s info websites and improved the number of impressions and followers in social media.
“Not everyone works as hard as you do to make us successful,” said McKeown regarding MRC’s effort. “Not only did you take on this program with an aggressive timeframe, but you did a great job with it.”
About the National Kidney Foundation Walk
The Kidney Walk is the nation's largest walk to fight kidney disease. Held in nearly 100 communities, the event raises awareness and funds lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families and those at risk. Over the years, FVC has raised thousands of dollars in donations to support the NKF initiative to help prevent kidney disease, support dialysis patients, and lead treatment and education. The NY Kidney Walk will be held Sunday, November 9th starting at Foley Square in Lower Manhattan. Check in time is 9:30 AM and the walk is set to begin at 10:30 AM.
