More than 500 Guests Enjoy Music, Food, Drink & Games

March 17, 2015, San Antonio, TX – More than 500 guests turned out and were treated to “Plan Awesome 2015” a Texas barbecue themed event at this year’s ASHE PDC conference in San Antonio. Hosted by Mitchell Planning of Chicago and mfPHD of Lorena, Texas, the event featured live music, unique games, and contests all conceived and produced by MRC Medical Communications. Attendees quickly dubbed it “the party of the year” with the buzz created by the event carrying over to the tradeshow floor for the balance of the annual Planning and Design conference.  

Event promotion began weeks in advance with an animated invitation arriving via email and tickets being sent on request. With searchlights crisscrossing the sky to mark the location for the outdoor event, guests, upon arrival, were greeted by one of a dozen party hosts supplied by Texas Cowgirls of San Antonio. Guests then proceeded to their choice of entertainment including traditional Texas Barbecue, 2 bars, live music by the Ray Johnston Band and a variety of games and contests. Games included a putting contest with guests competing for two tickets to the 2015 Masters. An assortment of Ping Pong tables where guests could challenge the game hosts to win an event T-shirt. Monster Beer Pong – an oversized version of the popular party game – drew plenty of action with an engraved stainless steel Beer Pong set offered as the top prize. Roving video shots of the games and guests were fed to a 16-foot movie screen giving everyone a chance to be on screen and to know what was happening in each area of the event. Guests could also watch highlights of Mitchell Planning’s recent hospital openings and tour the new mfPHD mobile showroom.

“The ideas was to keep the sales aspect low-key and give our guests a chance to kick back with a wide assortment of activities to let them have their own party experience - whether that meant music and dancing, competing in games and contests or just catching up with colleagues,” said mfPHD Principle Tom Crenshaw. “Based on the initial response, MRC Medical did just that.”
