MRC Medical Wins 2014 Healthcare Advertising AwardMay 5, 2014

Direct Mail Award is Company's 62nd

May 5, 2014, Emerson, NJ -- MRC Medical Communications announced today that it has been named a Silver winner in the 2014 Healthcare Advertising Awards. This is the company's 62nd national award for creative and production excellence across all media.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards, in its 31st year, is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards event recognizing the field of healthcare marketing and advertising. A national panel of judges granted awards to those entries that exemplified exceptional creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal and overall impact. Of this year's 3,700 entries 297 won Gold and 279 won Silver. Bronze Awards and Certificates of Merits were also given.

The Sky is the Limit

MRC Medical received its Silver HCA Award in the direct mail category. The winning piece was part of a complete integrated campaign developed for long-time client TRUMPF Medical Systems of Charleston, SC. The campaign was designed to enhance brand image and drive traffic to TRUMPF's booth at the 61st Annual AORN Surgical Conference and Expo where the company was exhibiting its latest innovations in Surgical Tables, LED Surgical Lights and Equipment Management Systems. The AORN Surgical Conference and Expo is the largest annual gathering of Operating Room nurses in the US.

The mailer, delivered in a clear envelope, appears as a rectangular corrugated box when closed, but opens to an impressive 16-inch circle with a full blue sky view. The transition from closed to open gives the recipient a sense of moving (thinking) outside the box and escaping to the limitless opportunities and freedom of choice afforded to hospitals by TRUMPF and the best in class partners it works with. Those partners, featured in the mailer, include Alpha Imaging, Aspen Surgical, Belimed, BrainLab, Buffalo Filter, Huntair, Image Stream, Intuitive Surgical, IMRIS, Karl Storz, Olympus, Philips, Shimadzu and Siemens.

The Result of a Strong Partnership

"This year's HCA Award is another in a string of national honors we have received for our work with TRUMPF Medical Systems," said MRC Medical's Creative Director Dave Rector. "We feel this speaks to the strong ongoing partnership we have with TRUMPF, as well as the great creative and effective marketing solutions that can come out of that kind of trust and working relationship."

According to Hilary Palmer, TRUMPF's Manager, Marketing Communications & Intelligence, the winning program not only scored high creatively but was consistent with TRUMPF's marketing direction.

"We have been working with MRC Medical for many years," said Palmer. "Our close relationship with their dedicated and dynamic team continues to grow, enabling successful development and execution of unique creative solutions that are in line with our strategic objectives."

MRC developed the original concept and handled design, copywriting and production, as well as supervising printing and fulfillment. Other winners in this year's competition included AARP, Baylor University Medical Center, Brigham and Women's, Memorial Sloan Kettering and Stryker Instruments.
